Summary:
This position is responsible for helping students accumulate the necessary credits to earn a standard diploma. Assure the development of lesson plans and activities that facilitate progress toward diploma attainment. Document student progress as required by local and state regulations. Assist all students in completing the necessary state exams and assessments.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that the programs for individuals meet the requirements of Easter Seals Southwest Florida, local school districts, and state regulations.
- Create and implement lesson plans aligned to the Sunshine State Standards through the Access Points.
- Maintain effective classroom management and provide continuous supervision of students to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Assist in educational and vocational skills training, as well as aid in personal care functions.
- Assess needs and develop written Individual Education Plans for assigned individuals.
- Administer Alternate Assessment and End of Course exams as required.
- Maintain required reports and written documentation, including timesheets, incident reports, etc.
- Assist in internal case management functions as assigned.
Comply with Easter Seals policies and procedures, utilizing the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and behavior.
Demonstrate good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy, and effective communication while working at Easter Seals or when representing the organization.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. A Florida Teaching Certificate in Exceptional Student Education is preferred.

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience with an exceptional student education population preferred.

Compensation: $42,000.00 per year
