Direct the comprehensive treatment of clients to achieve a healthier and more active lifestyle, providing services to develop, maintain, and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan. Responsible for the implementation of treatment, monitoring, documenting results, and determining appropriate termination of services, when possible. Specific exercises, manual therapy and manipulation, mechanical devices such as traction, education, physical agents including heat, cold, electricity, sound waves, radiation, and prescription of assistive devices, prostheses, and orthoses, as well as other interventions, may be included.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings and contribute to the evaluation of clients, as appropriate, to determine the need for intervention/treatment.
- Implements treatment plan developed by supervising physical therapist; implements, conducts, and monitors client’s response to treatment.
- Communicate with client, family, and team members about an appropriate home or community program to maintain or enhance the
client’s performance.
- Provide/recommend/fabricate adaptive devices or other equipment, train client, family, and appropriate staff in the use or application of orthotics and prosthetics.
- Adapt treatment and programs to meet the individual needs of the client.
- Document results of client’s assessment, treatment, follow-up, and termination of services. Participates in discharge planning.
- Adheres to department procedures regarding documentation of Physical Therapy services. Records indirect time and billable treatment times by department procedures. Maintains the productivity level established by the Therapy Director.
Complies with all Infection Control, Universal Precautions, and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional. Maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Complies with Easter Seals policies and procedures, utilizing the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and behavior.
- Demonstrates good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy, and effective communication while working at Easter Seals or when representing the organization.
| Required Credentials: Current Florida Department of Health License (or license eligible). National Provider Identification number preferred. CPR Certification/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens/HIV/Aids/Medical Errors, mandatory (training available). Valid Florida Class D driver’s license and auto liability insurance. Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree or greater in Science/Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Have a working knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience working with children and adults with Autism preferred.
