Provides the Speech and Language treatment of the clients to develop, recover, or maintain their daily living and work skills, focusing on adapting the environment, modifying a task, teaching a skill, and educating the client/family to help the client increase participation in and performance of daily activities.
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct treatment of children and adults with communication disorders following IEPs or Plans of Care written by a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Communicates with client, family, and team members about an appropriate home or community program to maintain or enhance the client’s performance.
- Adapts treatment and programs to meet the individual needs of the client under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Documents results of client’s treatment, follow-up, and termination of services.
- Adheres to department procedures regarding documentation of Speech Therapy services. Records indirect time and billable treatment times according to department procedures.
- Complies with all Infection Control, Universal Precautions, and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional. Maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Complies with Easter Seals policies and procedures, utilizing the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and behavior.
- Demonstrates good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy, and effective communication while working at Easter Seals or when representing the organization.
Experience:
A minimum of one year experience as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. Have a working knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)—preferred experience working with children and adults.
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.

Physical Demands: The ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, equipment, and/or clients.
